I'm not drilling new holes but just elongating a hole.
How in the world do you back up that AS in that space in your avatar? That is awesome.

[QUOTE=TN-TUNDRA]Thanks to PizzaChop I have my new Dexters with oem shock brackets!!! These things are stout as ****. Specs are #11 with 12" electric brakes, 3500lbs, 22.5 down angle (required for oem shock bracket), even came with ALL NEW hardware! Thanks again for all the help. Now next weekend is the install...
Most owners that replace the torsion axles, want a 35 degees downward starting angle.
It helps rigging to a high profile tow vehicle.
Makes a big difference, especially since the cost for the change of angle is zero.

Mark,
I used a metal removal bit (burr) and a pneumatic die-grinder to elongate the holes. Please call me before you begin as there are a couple of details I can explain which will help you in the overall changeout.
Congrats on the shock mount brackets. That will save you a lot of time!
P.S.- If ground clearance becomes an issue (22.5 deg vs 35 deg), you could probably achieve the 3/4" gain (or whatever it is) by taking advantage of the mounting slots on the Dexter axle brackets. I would insert some sort of spacer between the top of the bracket flange and the frame, as well as tack weld the side of the bracket to the frame (which is what I ended up doing anyway, just to be safe.)
