Bushings

I want to replace the suspension bushings and install greaseable bolts in my 1957 22' Custom, but I can't find the parts. Anyone know what the correct parts are and where to find them?

Best way, pull the old bearings and visit NAPA. Never heard of a a "greaseable bolt".

Hey AWCHIEF, not the bearings, but the leaf spring and shackle bushings. Newer shackle bolts have zerk fittings on the end so you can grease the joint. I don't want to burn the old bushings out without knowing that I can find the right ones.

The answer is still the same.

Pull the bolts and find a shackle to match. That age of trailer has parts that are no longer in a book. And many of the parts are generic trailer parts not necessarily specific to Airstream. The issue is they are generic to really old trailers.

My '46 Dodge pickup had grease able bolts on the shackles. It is nothing new. It's just more expensive. Need I say more?
Contact a place like Redneck Trailer Supply or someone with expertise in trailer suspension. They should be of more help than an auto parts store. If you don't have the year, model, engine size and whether or not it has air conditioning you can't buy a turn signal bulb at an auto parts store. Even worse, try buying anything for your TV at the dealership without the VIN number.
