Happy for you guys

Jeff, I'm so happy things worked out for you guys. I can't remember how long it took to ship but I think the repair shop had the axle in about a month or so.

Best, Doug

Thanks, they said it would ship maybe by the end of next week. Of course, we'd prefer yesterday, but just happy to have a solution.

This is a good tip. We did what you are doing, had the axle shipped to a reputable local shop. And they did a great job but, my husband did have to point out where to jack up the trailer. They change a lot of axles, they said mainly on landscaping trailers. Those guys run over curbs all the time. But this was their first Airsteam, it may have even been their first travel trailer. That was in 2018, we haven't had a problem since. Enjoy your(postponed) trip!

Thanks, we sent them the jack points page out of the manual just in case. This is their first Airstream as well.

Jeff-glad Dexter is working with you. I have a 2022 Globetrotter and had a bad axle that was replaced this week. The Airstream dealer in NC got Dexter to ship them a new axle and all done under warranty. Now I need to figure out how to get the tire I wore through replaced under warranty. Good luck with your axle and let me know if you are in the same boat with the tire.

Hi! Our tire is still good as far as I know. We didn't travel very far on it.

An update: Dexter was expedient and the trailer guy got the axle a week ago. He said he might get to it this week (sigh). But thanks Dexter!
