Can anyone out there help me? I just purchased a 1960 Safari which is located 800 miles from my location in Az. I am sure it still has the OEM axle under it.
I would like to have a new set of bearings, seals and tires on hand when I get there. I know that early units had a split rim how about the 1960?
If I posted this in the wrong please excuse me.
1960 will have leaf springs
I think it would have split rims too
Having bearings and seals mmmm not many people will have that data. Leaf springs had a HADCO axle.
You might have the seller send you the tire size. And let you know if the rims are split or not
If you are going to replace the tires a tire shop may not work on split rims. (It requires more specialized equipment most shops don't have because they don't see split rims.
