Washer/Dryer in 34' trailer

We want to install a camper washer/dryer in our 1989 Airstream 34'. I'm looking at the small model from Camping World. I think it will fit almost anywhere in the hall closet space or even in the rear bedroom (queen/full bed). I'm thinking cold water would be sufficient. Opinions?

Performance of these units is what is in question. If one converts ones wardrobe to all lightweight artificial fiber then it may be a good choice. But cotton, such as blue jeans, aren't going to wash or dry very well. I'd say this about any WD combo (as I have a Splendide unit). Really, how inconvenient is it to use a laundromat?

One winds up having to wash almost daily. If that seems reasonable, then I may be okay.
Recommend you search older threads as this has been discussed at length before.

Agree. We usually use one large washer for everything but delicates, which get their own machine. Yes, it costs more to do it that way but Jo Ann thinks her clothes will last longer. Everything goes in the same dryer, and when most are dry we take it all out. Jeans usually have to hang in the bathroom overnight. For $10 per trip to the laundromat we'd rather have the storage space than the Splendide.

If near a city with laundromat there may be someone working ther who wil do laundry by weight... Or use the machines yourself.

My wife is sensitive to detergent so we can't use an outside laundry as all the machines are contaminated with detergent .

We have a 1969 25' Tradewind that has twin beds up front and a 3rd bed across from the kitchen. We have more need for a counter top there then a bed.

So we are installing a Splendide washer and a dryer. The dryer is vented to the outside in place of the bed. Also under the counter we'll have room for the furnace and spare tire.

BTW be sure to get the unit that vents otherwise it will take forever to dry your clothes in a combo unit without a vent.

During the rebuild I installed a separate 30 amp service for the washer and dryer and extended the pex hot and cold lines to service the new outside shower and washing machine.

As a bonus if we need a 3rd bed we can put a matress on the counter top.

Heres some pic's of the before and during, I still have to install everything at this point.

I just take my laundry to the creek and beat it on the rocks. I get to keep the quarters in my pocket too.

Lol, we have seven kids! Even a slow washer/dryer is a plus, especially with twins on the way...

my current MoHo is my first RV to finally have washer/dryer (I have a combo my parents have both) and even if it isn't that efficient the convenience is worth it in spades. I still wait till I return home after a weeklong trip to have the maid wash the sheets, but while I'm on the road it's the best thing since sliced cake. And when the dishwasher is done being installed in a few days I'm goign to be in RV heaven =)

Final takeaway? WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! =)
