In search of capacitors..

I am looking for a place to buy/order new capacitors for the univolt in my trailer. (one is shot, so I thought I would just replace all 3 at the same time)

Hopefully someone else has had to replace one/all of theirs and know where to go.

Thanks!

Wolf

If you have the electrical characteristics, like voltage, polarity, and capacitance, you can get them in any electronics store, I would imagine.

Capacitors

Industrial Electrical Motor / Air Conditioning supply houses usually have a ready supply, might not be exactly the same size, though.

660 volt 4uf is the original value, I have used 400 volt 4uf with success.Found mine at a local industrial electric supply house, they were about $12 each .John these caps are not used as filters as one may think ,rather they are used as phase shifters for the primary side of the transformer, by doing this the transformer believes it is a 2 phase transformer instead of a single phase , its really quit neat how these univolts work ! I found a metallized polypropylene 4uf 700v at Allied, this type of construction should work but I can not find what the dialectic is on the original
