What color to repaint AC shroud?
Have been patching old AC shroud. Almost finished. Trying to decide what color to paint it. Choices seem to be grey, aluminum, or metallic silver. Any suggestions? Thanks. Jack

This is a project that i have been wanting to do for some time. I would think Alu would be a good fit. However Rustolium makes a color called stainless steel that is a perfect match.

Have heard some say they should be white to since they will be hotter any other color. I'd like some shade of silver that best matches the trailer skin.

Most of the large motor homes that I work on have painted shrouds. Some leave the top of the shroud white, but not all.
I had the shroud of the Dometic on my 19CCD painted Mercedes Silver by the body shop next door. It was almost a perfect match for the silver bullet.

I am finishing repairs to my abs original armstrong ac shroud on my 1972 international, mine is currently painted silver half way up the white on top, does any one know the original paint color, was it white and silver? What is the best paint to use on this abs plastic?

Because not all Airstreams came with a generic A/C cover. Some were trimmed to match the trailer and painted from the factory.

After looking thru the photos section it seems that silver on bottom with white 1/2 way up as mine is might be original paint scheme.
Anyone know for sure on the 1972 with the armstrong ac?
would all silver make much of a difference in heat or sun reflection over white?

I painted mine white on top and two shades of blue, see post #6 at http://www.airforums.com/forums/f427...ead-40795.html. Since then, though, the darker blue has faded to a dull turquoise color, lighter blue is just fine. Still better than white, but not what I had in mind. Used Krylon Fusion plastic paint.

White will reflect considerably more heat than any other color.
