What brand model AC unit in the new Airstreams?

What brand/model AC units is Airstream currently using in new production? I know there are 15k and a 13k models; I think 15k for the living room and 13k for the bedroom.

Does anyone know the brand & model?

Dometic Penquin II 15k and 13.5K Usually the primary has a heat pump but depends on the model and setup.

Anyone know if the new 30' Airstreams, ordered with two AC units, have heat pumps in both units or not?

My Classic has heat pumps on both. But it the answer may be different on different trailers.

I checked the model numbers on the front and rear units on my 2015 28FC. They both appear to be 15k heat pumps.

We have a Dometic 15 (front) and a 13.5 (rear) and both have heat pumps. They are really loud since they are also the air conditioners, but running in reverse. I was informed by DW that we will only use the furnace in the future.

I have an electric Dyson heater/fan that will roast you out of the trailer. It is not real quiet but I can put it on the other end of the camper. It beats having to listen to the ceiling noise out in the middle of the trailer.

Switz... yeah, I'd say the furnace is a good choice for heat, unless you just want to quickly take the chill off, in which case the heat pumps can do that in a few minutes, then be shut off. It's nice to have heat pumps, along with the furnace... just in case they're needed!

Switz... what model Domestics are in your Classic?

It's nice to have a small space heater as an alternative to the heat pumps and the furnace. They can be pretty quiet and conserve gas when you have electric hookups and don't want to use the heat pumps. Good thing with having two AC/Heat Pumps is you can run the one in the part of the trailer that you are not occupying, that way you don't have the sound right over your head. In our motorhome (which had 3 AC/Heat Pumps), when we needed continuous cooling, we ran the rear bedroom AC while in the front of the coach and ran one of the front AC units while sleeping in the back. All three units were ducted throughout the coach. Worked very nicely.

And with the ducted air system even the heat pump mode is quiet...

Both factory installed air conditioners in our 2014 Classic are Dometic Penguin II models with heat pump functionality. We did swap out the cup catcher mounting plates for the old style and the noise was reduced significantly.

Totally agree ...that was the main argument for us going with the ducted air.

We reverted back to the mounting system prior to 2014 (or earlier) as the factory left out the middle gasket for the new system which allowed the air conditioner to rattle against the aluminum. Our units just have air noise now, which is bad enough.

Thanks, Lou, for the info. I will have to look into the parts for the "old" mounting system, I guess, after the 2016 Serenity arrives here.

Woot is running a sale today on that dyson heat/air for only 120!

This wasn't an option at over 300, but at this price I'm good to go.

I'm chucking all my components with this new remodel and really don't know if I want to put a heater in because of my location. I wanted something for chilly days.

What I like about this is that it is more a whole room heater like a furnace is than just a space heater. And, it's a fan on warmer days. Small footprint as well and can stand on an upper surface and point down or up...

These were recalled and the one I bought for 120 is reconditioned. I am assuming this is a recalled/fixed unit but will check when received.
