We are renovating a 55 Flying Cloud and are installing a Dometic Blizzard split AC. The compressor is located under the rear bed. I will use 1” isolators under the unit, but need to use a sound proofing material around the sides and top of the compressor. Has anyone had experience with materials that would work for this application? Thanks
Let me know what you think and if you have any questions after reading up on the links I provided. There's some really good info there that can be used in many ways.
Thanks Paul, I would like your input to make sure I am interpreting this correctly.
Do I attach the sound deadening tile directly to the compressor to help deaden vibration noise then use a decoupled mass loaded vinyl around the inside of a box I build to surround the compressor and create a sound barrier?
Or would it be better to sandwich the mass loaded vinyl between foam board to build the box?
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
