Should Airstream AC Units Turn Off at Set Temperature?
Need a quick refresher on the AC units. In the home, AC units turn off automatically once the desired temperature is reached. However, I've noticed that in my Airstream, the AC units seem to keep running even after the set temperature is achieved.
Is this normal behavior for Airstream AC units, or should they be turning off just like a home AC unit once the desired temperature is reached? I'm wondering if there might be something wrong with my units or if this is just how they operate. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you have the fan set to automatic, the compressor and fan will cycle on and off. If you set the fan to a particular speed (low, medium, high), the fan will always run, but the compressor still cycles as needed.
We leave the fan set at a set speed so the the noise it constant- not abrupt on and off changes in the sound.

But the vents will never stop blowing? Just cycling between cold (compressed) and non-cold air?

That is as I understand it, and how all five of mine worked.

on my 2023 fc 25fb the air con never turns off
with the fan on manual or auto, it just stays running- fan and compressor!
if when the temp drops 1-2 degrees below the set point, the fan and compressor keep running!
if i increase the setpoint 4 degrees above the current temp, it stays on
how do i solve this annoying issue?

Only if the fan setting is on Low, etc. If the fan is on auto, it will blow only when the A/C starts up.

Wow. That sounds odd. What kind of thermostat do you have? Have you talked to a dealer service rep?

We have a 24 Classic RBQ. I’ve noticed the bedroom will shut off at desired temp. The front will not.

An Update - I’m Dumb
Auto Mode in the CZone. Sorry to spin every one up on such a dumb oversight. That helped. Will update again once I’m 100% sure it’s operating like I’d have expected it to. Haven’t been able to see what happens when it cools down because haven’t spent the night in the unit yet.

I had a war of wills between the two units. One was calling for cool while other is off and visa-verse. They both use the same ductwork so in the beginning it was hard to realize what was going on. I monitored and adjusted over a couple of trips and got it the pattern figured out. The Dometic thermostat didn’t help so upgraded to the Microair. It helped significantly. Another learning curve was knowing when to use just one unit. Generally I use unit 1 (15000btu) always and only turn on unit 2 (13500btu) when really hot. Same applies when using heat pumps except temperature parameters change.

I just went through this with my FC 25FB. If there’s a small, circular white port on the side of your fridge, that’s the problem. It’s the remote sensor for your AC. It shares a wall with fridge and that wall is always hot. I unscrewed it and pulled the sensor out away from the wall. That helped enormously.

That stupid sensor is in a bad place. - on a wall sandwiched between the fridge and tv. Lots of heat from both of the tv and fridge. I need to relocate that small white round temp sensor.

I had a problem where the unit was not shutting off in Auto, no control of fan speeds (no matter which setting always in high) and the Fan on the AC unit was coming on when the LP heat was on.
Someone advised me to do a “reset” and this fixed all the above issues. You might want to try it depending on your thermostat style.
SYSTEM RESET PROCEDURE
CCC 2 thermostat will recognize the updated selection.
To do a system reset:
1. Make sure the CCC 2 thermostat is in the OFF mode.
2. Simultaneously press the MODE and ZONE buttons. The LCD will display "IniT" and all available zones.
3. Release the MODE and ZONE buttons.
4. Press the ON/OFF button to exit system set up.
