Sealing Interior Wall Gap — Penguin II

I have a 13.5K BTU Penguin II AC about two years old. When I removed the shroud to clean inside, I noticed that the plastic wall separating the condensor cavity from the fan motor cavity had duct putty around the wire harness running through the wall from the condensor to the electrical box but there was a gap in the wall nearest the front styrofoam box. I see from online photos that this gap is normal but would it improve efficiency to tape that gap closed? Would it do any harm? The duct putty and the foam seal on top of the interior wall tells me that some attempt was made to use the wall as an air barrier. I apologize in advance for not having photos but in this video of an EasyStart install (https://youtu.be/j17f4Nt5vcU) you can see the gap just to the right of the installer’s thumb at the 5:00 mark. Thanks.
