Replacement for ducted AC vents?

We have a 2018 27FB with ducted air and dual AC units. The ducted air is great but the adjustable vents are not very efficient at allowing the air out of the vent and are PITA to adjust.

I found this thread with one great solution from QC Torpedo:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f542...rs-166383.html

I may just do this but want to make sure there isn’t yet another solution I am missing.

I think the perfect replacement would be a stainless and slightly smaller version of the fantastic fan vent cover made as a direct replacement for the existing ac vents. Make it so you could simply allow flow or block flow so you could “balance” all the vents to direct where you want cold air!

Here is the fantastic fan vent cover for reference in case you don’t know what I am referring too - imagine one stainless and smaller:
http://airstreamsupply.com/Vents-and...roduct_id=1009

Does anything like this exist? I have searched and not found. I am hoping my google-fu is off....

What have others done, other than the thread above?

Found these online - very close - too small.

The 2014 & 2015 AS had plain screens on the ducts. The adjustable (and partially blocked) were introduced in 2016. Contact AS or dealers for these screens. Also some people replaced their full screens for adjustable and may have some for sale in classifieds.

Nothing in classifieds. May consider a “wanted” add.

Replacement for ducted AC vents?

I called Airstream and spoke to Sarah in parts, she was very helpful. The older vent style has been discontinued but they sound exactly like what I had in mind! Basically the same as the return air vents but round.

They were used for only a short time starting from January 2015, made by “Signature 4” with a part number of 382233-01. They had no stock.

I have reached out to Signature 4.

The search continues.

Our 2015 came with the screens but the lack of adjustment wasn't working for us. We bought 5 of the later version, placing two at each end of the trailer and one in the bathroom. The remaining screens were totally or partially blocked with closed cell foam inserted on the inside of the screen. We now have completely balanced air flow and the ability to make some quick changes as needed with the adjustable ones. Just another way to skin the cat.

Do you still have the screen type that you removed and would you be willing to sell???

Just heard back from Signature 4

"These vents have been obsoleted and are no longer available. Airstream replaced these with the swivel vent that opens and closes.

Sorry we could not help."

I did keep the 5 screen type I took out but sorry to say I do not want to let them go. Never know what may happen so best to hang on to them. Good luck locating some.

Understand! Could you send or post pictures of them?

Until I can find the old style screened vents, this is my solution. The cooling efficiency is a huge difference with just one vent open like this in our 20 FC. If anyone has found a source for the old style screened vents please post (I don't care about directing flow, just eliminating ridiculously restrictive newer vent style).

Finally found something that fits. This was actually posted by another member originally, but the thread title had no hint of the subject so might have missed it.

A bit of a saga to get the correct vent. The link to the Amazon item looked right but the vent I received was not at all correct. Then what do you know but the correct part showed up a week later as a "gift" from the seller.

I am not including the link since I had the problem with the order, but if you search you can find it easily enough.

In the meantime ordered one from eBay also. Flow and cool down time is astonishingly better with better flowing outlet vents. (Even just the one wide open as shown above).

I am going to replace all with this Calimaero aluminum outlet.

Adding link because this time the ones I received were exactly as shown and a correct fit.
