Don't have one (generator or remote) but have read from others that they are a godsend in the winter or when it's raining cats n' dogs!
Could see it helpful if you were working on something at the opposite end of the power cord and needed to kill/restart the genset.
But, how often would you be doing that? How much extra is it and is the convenience worth the extra bucks?
Dunno about you, but I have a knack for storing remotes in "logical" places that I'll remember... trouble is, I don't until I don't need it...
