Need 12v for thermostat...Options?

I will skip the long story...however when wiring my trailer I had no idea that I was going to need 12v to the thermostat, because I thought I was getting a Dometic that was a manual control. After waiting 4 months for the back order, I got what I got and now I will live with it.

My question is this...rather that trying to snake wires to the control panel (impossible almost) does anyone one out there think a a small 12v battery will do the the job (smaller than a motorcycle battery). Something that can hide away in the ceiling where the a/c is located. Otherwise I will tap off the power fan and always keep that switch on when so the a/c will be on standby when using the trailer.
