I’m interested but have a few questions. We don’t keep our trailer on shore power. We have a master switch that disconnects ALL power. How will the thermostat wake up when power is switched back on? Is there backup battery like the smoke detectors? Are settings maintained? It would be nice to active the thermostat while running down the road when getting close to a driving break or your end of the day. Getting a jumpstart on cooling down during the summer or maintaining a warm temp during cold travel days.

Thanks! Could you please elaborate on the above point? Does it allow you to set an outside temperature for the switch over from heat pump to furnace? Can you set a temperature for a switch back to heat pump?
I contacted customer support and they told me that the latest firmware update allows the switch over. It receives the signal from the control board in the ac unit. They could not tell me the exact temp but it is the same from factory thermostat.
The website states “Never Lose Your Comfort Control Settings Again With Our Built-In Automatic Backup Feature” I want to understand this. If one disconnects all power, will the settings remain?

Yes that is correct. I have disconnected the power including using the 12 v disconnect and the settings always persist unless you do a hard reset to the unit.
There is a memory chip in the circuit board they are written to.
Also because the unit uses 12v power and not shore power you can have the furnace come on when doing cold weather driving.

What I was getting at was not the fact that it makes the switch to furnace; the Dometic unit does that. I would like it to adjust it to make the switch sooner. If you have not experienced it, with the heat pump on as it gets colder the A/C unit goes through defrost cycles trying to keep it from freezing up. This causes a good bit of odd noises and vibration. I would prefer that it switch to furnace instead of doing that.

^^ This.. me too
And I know it’s not the thermostat’s fault
