Micro-Air digital thermostat

I'd like to replace my dometic thermostat for reasons that I think are obvious to most Airstream owners.

It appears to control both air conditioning and furnace. But it doesn't mention the heat pump. Anyone know how it addresses this?

I'm thinking about replacing the original dometic thermostat in my FC with the Micro-Air. Appears to be plug and play. I'm guessing you have one. How do you like it?

Yes, I like it very much. Very reliable, display is clear with good color resolution, intuitive to use and with the BT connectivity to phone, I rarely touch the t-stat make all adjustments via phone. Install was just unplug old Dometic and plug in Micro-air, make BT connection and up and running. If I recall, came with good instruction too. Highly recommend.

Heat pump functionality is controlled by the dip switches in the air conditioner(s). If the Dometic thermostat had the heat pump option, the Micro-Air thermostat will have it as well. You don’t have to do anything to enable it.

Tap the mode icon to bring up the mode selection screen. There you’ll see a Heat Pump option as well as an Auto HP option. The latter runs AC when appropriate or automatically switches to heat pump when appropriate.

Here's the table of what is available on the selector depending on what systems are available in your trailer.

I installed it in 15 minutes after watching their Youtube video. Definitely plug and play without any need to do anything after plugging in the telephone cord. It was immediately functional and recognized our 2 zones for AC/Heat pumps, furnace and fans.

Exception: if you want to use the Blue Tooth to control it from your phone (highly recommended imho) and/or the WiFi capability (may be useful if you have pets) it takes a few minutes to make those optional connections.

We are on our first trip (5th day out on both 50A power and 12V boondocking) and it work perfectly.

One of my best upgrades!

Yes plug in play great customer support. It plugs into an old rj11 type of connector. Like old telephone jacks just don’t drop it and let it slide back deep into the wall. Did he upgrade a few years back so works great love it.

Installed in my FC 25FBT with no issues. I tow with F150 PowerBoost and plug my trailer into the onboard Inverter while traveling. On trips I can remotely start the AC with the blue tooth connection to pre cool the trailer for rest stops or end of day stop.

I also noticed that true to their word, they created a patch that allows the furnace and heatpump to work together on GE units. Now if they or GE could find a way to get the condensate pumps to work when the unit shuts off........

Good on them for following through. I was just on the phone today with first Hutch Mountain that makes or distributes the Micro-Air thermostat and then with Premier Products that distribute the Gree AC unit. Unfortunately for me there are no plans in the work to make a patch, module or anything to get a thermostat that can control both the AC/heat pump and furnace. In a nutshell I was told that I have an old unit 2015 (analog based system) and they are now only working with products that use RVC. Premier said that there is not enough business for them in the replacement business and all the business is in new manufacturing.

I have a Micro-Air thermostat that I absolutely love and was able to control everything via WIFI when I had the Dometic AC. I meticulously removed the control board from my old Dometic and re-installed it in tack just in case they would figure out a work around to be able to control both the furnace and AC. Whenever I get free time, I’m going to study both the old Dometic AC wiring diagram along with the new Gree AC one and try to figure it out but that will probably be a while.

My only gripe with the Gree AC WIFI that I find frustrating is that it keeps disconnecting from WIFI. The gentleman from Gree was trying to tell me that it’s my router. However, I paid MobileMustHave to dial in my router remotely. None of my other things in the rig ever disconnect from WIFI. Not the Micro-Air thermostat, Cerbo GX or any of the connected devices ever unless I disconnect 12v power.
