looking for a/c wiring info
just bought 73 safari, well i bought it in november and put it in storage.so back to the question, are they prewired for a/c. both front and rear roof openings have vents.any info,thanks Don

Yes they are prewired.
The AC's are "not" installed in a vent.
I will post the location of the wire, tomorrow, when I am at my office.

Station "zero" is the very first main bow.
The AC wire in the roof is 98 inches rearward of station zero, and in the dead center, sideways in the roof.
The beginning of the wire is located behind or along the side of the breaker panel. You may have to pull the breaker panel forward some what, to find that wire.

Just curious, why isn't the A/C installed in the vent?

The original vent frame would have to be removed before an AC could be installed in that hole.
Additionally, the built in wire, is not close to a vent.
Also, Airstream designed the AC location, so as to not appreciably change the tongue weight.
