Is 1968 AC worth 'saving' or rip out!

Hi, We purchased a 1968 Avion Travelcader in May. The original AC works ok.... no leaks...until torrential rain storm. Large puddle under the AC area.

Luckily we have been replacing the sub-flooring and not a disaster !
Not sure if the water leak was caused by the heavy rain blowing in thru the side screened area in the roof AC unit or whether it's related to an undiagnosed issue.

Question is while the AC does work, it is 42 years old. Is it time to yank out and replace with a fantastic fan ( won't be using any DC electric anyway) There is so much vulkrum sealer etc, that to try and diagnose where a leak may come in under the cover, may be more than it's worth in trouble.

Any advise ?? While we may never use the AC will it down the road be a selling point to have a 1968 AC vs a new fantastic fan.??

The AC on my 68 works great, so far. Some PO had replaced the fan motor and starting capacitor. I had the same problem with leaks, but finally got it stopped, with a lot of Vulkem. There are only two holes on top for the unit, one is for the fan shaft and the other where all the electric and freon lines come through. That is where mine was leaking. I had thought about replacing the unit, but I am going to keep it until it dies because it cools great even here in Mississippi. There are many threads about repairing the old AC units as well. You will find lots of things to spend money on (like axles and tires) as you restore your trailer so why not save the cost of the AC until you need to replace it.
Also, the Fantastic Fans are 12 volt, and they are sized to fit where your factory vent is located (14 x 14). To put one where the AC is would require cutting a hole, as would replacing the whole unit.
