We are rebuilding a 1992 29’ Excella. This was actually a shell off. That part is done and the shell is now back on the frame. The shell is completely empty, no inside skins, ribs exposed, etc. I intend to install a new 15K Coleman Mach 8 Plus (heat pump). The one we’ve decided on comes with a condensate pump and a ductless control grill, from
My12VoltStore.Com.
That said, I’m thinking I’d like to set this up to run from a remote wall mounted electronic thermostat that will actually allow us to set a temperature range etc.. The salesman for the conglomerate that owns My12voltStore, did not know if it was even possible. I was sure I’d seen something about this on AF, so I called a support number for
AirExcel the folks who manufacture Coleman RV products. It took a few tries, but I did receive a call back. The lady who helped me said it was possible and explained Id need to use a different grill (without controls) and a control box that will work with a remote thermostat to make it work. She sent me the part numbers and info. I’m still researching so I don’t want to put any info on here that may be misleading.
What I’m hoping is that someone who’s done it can share some information on the whats, hows and whys with me.
