Inside Temperature - Zone 1 reading external

So - I have read a lot of issues with thermostats reading incorrectly, however I haven't seen any that match my issue... thought I would post to see if anyone has any thoughts.

I have a 2021 25' RTB Flying Cloud. My Dometic Thermostat reads the inside temperature just fine when NOT on a zone. However when you switch to zone 1, the 'inside temperature' reads outside temperature. I have only a single AC unit and so there is no 'zone 2' on my rig. It's not the end of the world, but it's kind of a pain when the rig cools off enough, but it's still hot outside. You have to keep adjusting temperature settings in order to keep the inside at the temp you want...
Example: It is 94 degrees outside, and 78 inside. When NOT on zone 1, the inside temperature reading will be 78, when on zone 1 (needed to run the AC), the inside temperature will read 94...

My question is two part....
1. Can I change the location of this temperature probe so it reads better? If so, any idea where it is?
2. Can I re-program my thermostat to run off the actual inside temperature instead of the 'zone 1' inside temperature?

If you have 1 AC, then that is Zone 1, its temperature sensor is INSIDE the Dometic temp panel controller in your bedroom (I assume) itself where you do the set points.

There should be no option to select Zone 2 if you don't have a 2nd AC. There are dip switches in the unit on the roof that tells the system what its configuration is, including furnace, heat strips, humidifier etc.

The temperature controller you dial in the temperature is just a "dummy" and reading what the main control board in the AC unit is set to and doing. It is connected with an RJ6 (telephone) cable.

There are no adjustments that can be made in that temp controller to fix offset or error in temp readings.

What you could do is make sure the overhead vents are not blowing directly on the unit itself or the wall it is attached to. That causes the wall to assume the temperature of the vents while the rest of the rig cools down causing an imbalance as the sensor gets colder faster than the rest of the rig.

The only other thought would be to relocate the panel elsewhere, but I would first sort out get zone 2 turned off as you shouldn't have access to it with 1 AC which I think might be causing you to read the outside temp you are seeing.

Also, if you had 2 zones, there is a "remote" sensor that attaches to the unit and usually on the opposite side of the rig where the temp controller is mounted to create the 2nd zone, but since you have 1 AC, that isn't installed.
