But letting them go out the door sob white make the new airstream look cheap. They could specify silver paint from the suppler. No pride anymore...

Well, if non-silver is an indication of a lack of pride anymore, then "anymore" has to have started at least in 2002 when we bought our 19' Bambi .

Hmmmm, wonder if I could name 5 things besides the ac shroud that makes AS trailers look cheap... - Plastic water heater cover
- Generic RV industry plastic power outlets stuck outside instead of the custom cast aluminum ones mounted flush in the 70s
- Cheap plastic automotive belt covering the rivet line that often comes unglued
- The generic led tail lights that looke like they come from a discount auto parts store
- All the stuff sticking out the roof that is usually poorly caulked.
- The rock guards, only they ain’t cheap, just look it. .
Ok, more than five, you could name more. I noticed all that stuff before the color of the ac to be honest.

Yes, the factory color is white. Mine was cracked, so I repaired it(fiberglass) then painted silver. It looks GREAT. I recommend using the “Automotive “ spray rather than standard silver spray- which dulls and fades quickly.

Has anyone mounted a solar panel on top of theirs especially on the shorter trailers with limited roof space

I wouldn't...anything that has only four dinky screws holding it and is probably cracked from the install would be iffy at best.🥴

Has anyone tried a vehicle wrap company...maybe cost prohibitive, but cool graphics might be worth it.

r carl, Post #19; I have wondered the same thing. Better yet, Thor is is such big RV builder they should demand Dometic finish them in silver. I would bet that is a cheaper finish anyway.

I like the idea of changing the color from white. Here are things I've seen in the past, but never on an AC unit.
1. Wrapped a white truck with graphics that were black. Looked really good. The chrome part of the graphics came out nice. Maybe wrap the AC shroud in chrome wrap.
2. Painted plastic to look chrome. This was done at an autobody shop.
3. Chrome plated plastic parts. This was for volume manufacturing so I don't know if a company would do a one off, but it came out great.
Of the different methods #3 came out looking the best, but the other two weren't far behind. I can see doing this to several of the parts on a trailer.

We had the installer paint our AC. I believe they used rattle can. No problem, no touch ups since.
