Feels good to fix it without paying someone

Learnin something new every day - at some point I may even call myself "handy" ....but let's not get ahead of ourselves

The satisfaction you are feeling is just part of the process that our Airstreams use to capture us forever. It starts with small wins and from what I see by reading this forum, it culminates with a full blown restoration topped off by endless hours in the sun polishing the thing so you can see it from the moon. Even though I used the term "fix", it was, of course used with my tongue firmly inserted in my cheek. When my furnace acted up, my fix lasted until my next opportunity to have the dealer's tech look at. He replaced the sail switch and I never had a problem again. It would appear, after recent weather related events in your area, that a furnace operating without fail, is becoming increasingly important. Blame it on the tar sands. Jim

I have the same problem. Jumped the wires at the thermostat. No results. Will check the voltage tomorrow. Should be 12v at the blue wires, right? I couldn't figure out the connections to the blower from the outside. Will try checking the voltage there too. DH

You will not read 12 volts on between the thermostat wires. They are only a switch leg.
Do you know if you have 12 volts to the furnace?

Getting ready to use the trailer and I'm back to diagnosing my gas heater issues again. Quick history. We used the trailer in our drive while some work was going on in the house a year ago. We have two AC with heat pumps and a gas Atwood M/N 8535-IV DCLP. We started out using the gas heat and often it would fail to come back on after kicking off. Finally it stopped all together. I started using the heat pump on one of the AC's and after a few days it failed to come on. We were then down to one unit. I replaced the thermostat several months later and both AC's would work but the furnace would not come on. I performed a "reset" on the thermostat as per instructions. Now I am troubleshooting the furnace again. I've checked the Ignition Control Diagnostic and the red lamp is not on. I have also reset the switch on the blower. Still nothing. I have plenty of propane. Bled the gas line at the furnace connection. I need to check my power to the unit but am unsure of where to check it. I disconnected the plug at the circuit board and pulled the board out for a good visual. Should I read 12v on one of the board connector pins? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks...... steve
