Furnace rope gasket

When I removed the furnace for a floor replacement, I noticed the rope gasket for the vent cap was chewed up. My 1973 Suburban Dyna-trail manual shows a parts break down but no listing for rope gasket as a replacement part.
Can I get a piece of rope seal at a hardware store or do I need to go through Suburban.

When I replaced my fan motor on my suburban I purchased it from PPL. They sold me the rope gasket at the same time.

I tried the PPL web site. Does not seem to be working for parts lookup.

Can a rope gasket be obtained at a hardware store?

Can a use a high heat caulk rated for 2000'F ?
