Furnace raise from bottom or top of plenum

Hi another furnace question. People who are using their old plenums and modifying them, are you raising the new furnace from underneath the plenum or from under the new furnace on top of the plenum to line up with exhaust holes? I’ve seen different posts but wasn’t too sure which way to modify was the easiest.
