Furnace is driving me crazy

Ok I have the furnance out we cleaned it just wondering if the pilot light is supposed to shoot out like a huge flame if not how the heck do u adjust it..

You should have an "in line" adjustment for the pilot light, that's on the left side of the furnace.

Gentle blue flame, about half the size of candle flame, its purpose is to heat the thermocouple sending a small current to the gas valve to indicate a heat source for ignition. Did you forget to put the orfice back in the pilot tube?

Those old furnaces are a headache. You can't get parts or find anyone willing to work on them. Consider replacing it with a new unit.

There is an in-line pilot light adjustment that is on the left side of the furnace, near the front. You should be able to see it when the furnace is still in it's housing.

If you have it out and testing on a bench what are you using for propane?
The reason I ask the propane must go though a regulator.

Flame should be as stated by Greg above with no yellow.
