Filters in A/C vents - question

I removed both vent covers to my A/C (ductless) tonight to clean them. There was a white plastic filter attached to one vent cover which I cleaned and reinstalled (curbside). The other vent cover did not have a filter in it. Should it have one? Photo attached. The filter is inside the right cover in photo. Thanks!

The exact same thing happened to me when I recently purchased a used 2018 25FB Twin. I have 2 a/c units on mine so 4 intake filters.........only 3 are present. I have not looked to see if it was "sucked in" or not. Does anyone know where to buy these filters?
