Dometic Penguin giveaway

I have a Dometic Penguin 13.5 kBTU low profile ac (p/n 610015.405) to give away. I'm replacing it with a new 15k heat pump. The unit is from my '92 A/S and it was new then and it's still in reasonable condition (made it through last year's record breaking 92 day 100º+ summer).

I decided that I had a bad start capacitor when it would not spin up to normal speed last fall after working just fine for a long time and so I bought a replacement heat pump. I later discovered that the wire feeding power to it was loose at the circuit breaker and getting hot and that very likely is why it wouldn't spin all the way up.

The air distribution box is old and I would get a new one, though I can include what I took down. I also removed the plastic pan from the roof and it's split in several places so you will need a new one.

I'll give it to anyone who wants it if you pay the shipping. I also have a new ADB and a heat strip kit advertised in the classifieds for sale that I think will work with it, but check the part numbers for yourself.

My ad is here
Dometic Penguin A/C accessories - Airstream Trailer Classifieds - Airstreams Trailers For Sale

I spent some time looking at model info and the ADB will not work with the a/c because it's for a heat pump. The ADB that comes with the unit works but it's kind of funky after 20 years of service, although it does have a relatively new control circuit board in it.

The heat strip kit should work because I believe that it's the same kit for all models. The heat strip that's in the unit sort of worked one time and then never again.

The split pan that I mentioned is part of the internal drain kit.

Crusty, you should give it to the local guy, I don't want you to have to go through all the trouble of shipping. It sure was generous of you to offer, though!!!

It's outlived its usefulness to me and is just something else I'll have to deal with otherwise so I'm happy to let it go to someone who can get some use out of it.
