Dometic ac fan doesn't run

Good morning, I have a vexing problem: yesterday the fan motor of our Dometic a/c stopped working, and we had to go home because the trailer got too hot (we have a 2013 International 27FB). The compressor will hum, but since the fan doesn't come on, the unit shuts itself off after a couple of minutes. Since the fan also won't run in "fan only" mode, I'm pretty sure that that is my problem. Incidentally, the squirrel cage spins fine.
Has anyone dealt with this problem, since I don't even know where to start. Is there a fuse inside the unit that can be checked? If so, where is it located? Or could it be a bad capacitor, and do I have to climb on the roof to service it (I hate to that since I don't want to make a dent in my roof).
Any and all advice would be much appreciated, thanks!!!

I had a similar problem with my unit and had to replace the fan motor. Tolbert Electric in Texas 972-272-6541 speak to Wyatt. They have that dometic fan motor in stock

Well, it could be a couple of things--if you can access the squirrel cage fan blades from below, you might try powering up the unit, and physically giving them a spin in the right direction (using something like a thin stick, not your finger). If it is a start capacitor, the fan should continue spinning, and you know what you have to replace,

If the above doesn't help, then you could take down the ceiling unit and make sure all the wiring you can see from there is connected and intact. Anything else is going to require access to the roof and removal of the shroud.

You can do a lot of work without physically standing on the roof, depending on the variety of ladders you have, and if you have an awning. If you do find yourself on the roof just stay well clear of stepping on the endcaps, try to put your weight on the rivet lines, and you should be OK.

Also--do you have a soft-start installed?

good luck!
