Cutting hole for 75 Argosy AC

I know now that the Argosy TT when not already equipped with an AC is set up for one from the factory. there is an outlet in the ceiling connected to a 30amp breaker and a drain tube out the bottom of the TT. i mistakenly though the spot for the AC was to remove the center vent and drop it into that hole. however i was informed the AC will need to be cut into the roof at the proper spot where it is designed to go. this is a 75 argosy 26' TT. i am confident enough to cut through the roof just don't know where exactly to cut? and is there already support, a brace, or frame there?

i am assuming the standard 14x14 opening, possible right where the ceiling outlet is now? the electric directly wired up and the drain pipe up there somewhere to hookup...

Thanks for all your help, you guys rock

I understand that sometimes the company that manufactured the trailer can supply this information. It might be worth a phone call to find out.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Call Airstream in Jackson Center, Ohio. They will tell you the exact measurement from the front end cap of where you need to cut the hole. We did this with our daughter's Argosy Minuet & the electric & drain hose were both tucked away in between the ceiling & the outer shell.

My 1974 28' argosy has the A/C between the center and rear vents. Just to the back side of the first rib to the rear of the center vent. That side of the A/C hole seems to be as close to the rib as they could get it but not to close that the flange of the A/C would hit the rib. I would think the reason to be close to a rib would be for better support. My center vent has a 12volt fan in it. I would not want to loose that.
Hope the pic's help. the best I have.
