Checking Thermostat Questions

Howdy,

Brand new 2019 Sport 22FB. Every time I go to check if furnace is working properly it's 90 and at least that hot in the AS. It seems the stock Dometic analog thermostat won't allow the on/off switch to even move if...

It's warmer than the extreme heat of the device. For instance it's not gonna allow heat when it's 90.

And/or

The propane and pilot light are off.

I figure at least the on/off switch would move but it's locked in Off position. SHould it be in above scenario?

I'll wait for a cooler day to try it, turn on propane and pilot light.

But meanwhile the thermostat is old fashioned at best! Is it easy to upgrade to a digital? Recommend an good direct replacement?

Thanks,

I bought this one!

Honeywell TH1100DV1000 Pro-Digital 2-Wire Heat Only. $30 on Amazon.

Installed quickly and works great!

Any good RV resources in Tucson besides the typical Camping World etc?

HTH

Hi

There's no real guarantee that the issue *is* the thermostat. Since we are talking about a 2019 here, it's still very much in warranty. Fiddling things / DIY stuff can get you into warranty issues ( = they will not be happy fixing any mistakes you might make). I'd get the original fixed first. Once it's working correctly *then* play with replacements. Going from "working" to "working" is much easier than trying to do multiple things at once ....

Bob

Mine was working but very stiff and hard to read the gauge.

The digital is MUCH simpler especially with the placement AS chose.

Thanks,

Oh yea!

I went there looking at used AS but decided I don't have time or place to refurb one and went new.

I'll check them out for odds and ends though.

Thanks,
