YUP!
That's how they do it. If you look clesely at the unit....you'll see the crimoed and soldered ends where the refrigerant is added.

Decided on the Carrier Low Profile Unit
Thanks for all of the information from everyone on this issue. We decided to replace our existing Carrier Air V with a Carrier Low Profile unit. The installation was a breeze since we were just swapping units. The Low Profile unit looks much nicer on the roof.
Thanks again to all who responded, this helped make the decision much easier.

Looks good, alright. What size did you decide to buy? I bought the standard 15,000 heat pump for a couple of reasons. 1—Slightly higher air flow and 2—All copper construction. My problem is that it refuses to jump up on top of the Excella, remove the old Coleman, and install itself.

everything you have checked so far is good and you should always keep an eye on those but it sounds to me like you have a run capaitor to your compresser that has gone bad. this the compresser to run at normal amperage, when bad the compresser will overamp and overheat then shut down till it cools off and start again. these units do not have pressure switches in them though it would be nice if they did. this may not be the problem but is most common, you should an a/c guy or someone with electrical componet knowledge check it for you. you can get shocked from this part if not careful.

We went with another 13,500 unit like we had. The price was too good to pass up $425.00 I jumped on it because it included free shipping.

Can I ask where you found it for this price. I'm looking at the AirV 15,000 but might go your way for that money. Thanks...

I found it on Ebay. They had quite a few of them. The seller ID was
kimiann
They shipped it pretty fast.
Good luck!
