Air Conditioning Vents

Just 3D printed some mounting collars for a set of 6” spot diffusers I came across.

So happy with the installation.

They work great.

I might do a small production run if enough people are interested in picking up a set.

Would need to do the numbers, but if anyone is interested then please reply to the post.

I will look into making them if I can get interest from 10 or more members.

Those are very cool. They are just what I need. Count me in. I have had trouble keeping the Airstream vents in the ceiling.

I may be interested too, depends. What is involved in the install, and the cost?

Install is fairly straightforward. The collar mounts to the ceiling with 3 stainless metal screws or 3m UHB tape.

Once it is in place the diffuser attaches to the collar with 3 stainless screws that tap into tapered holes built into the collar.

I will get some additional images up as soon as I get a chance.

As for cost, it will depend on the quantity that I am able to produce. More units will bring the price down–each vent assembly will probably come in around 250 with all mounting hardware and collar.

The aluminum spot diffuser itself is a much more expensive part than the stamped vents our trailers came with, so this is going to be the most expensive thing.

I will check with my source on bulk pricing once we have enough people who are interested.

Here’s an update:

My source in Asia has discounted producing this diffuser.

However, I just spoke with another factory that can produce a comparable part.

The representative is sending me a sample part that should arrive in two weeks.

Once it arrives I will build the adapter collar in SolidWorks and prototype it. If all goes well then I’ll have pictures for you guys in a few weeks time.

In the meantime, please spread the word as I can only source these at a reasonable price if we get enough members who want to get their hands on a set.

The JQJ6 looks comparable as well as a bit less expensive then what you are quoting and is already available. ???

Call them..

He is liquidating them and only has 17 of the 6" vents left.

Around $250 each? Am I reading this correctly. Can't remember off the top of my head how many vents are in my 27' Flying Cloud, but if that price is correct that's more than I want to spend. Very cool though, great job. Thanks anyway.

In looking at some of the renderings, it appears that these vents are adjustable from full open to totally closed. Is this correct?
