Air Conditioner repair

My A/C would only come on within three degrees of the set temp and only blow hot air. Took the cover off the top unit to check the compressor wiring and found no power to the unit. When tracing the wires back I found the "AirCon" control unit (It's part of the Firefly automation) in the return air duct?? With further checking I found a bad relay in the unit. Ordered a replacement from Firefly instead of Airstream. ($100 savings). Everything is now back to normal.
Airstream just had the box floating in the duct. I secured it with tie wraps. I find it strange how a premium RV could have such shoddy work.
Spyder controls makes the units for Firefly with their specs so you have to get it from Firefly. Its part #70037. It's $185.00 plus shipping

Forgive my sarcasm, but... Did you just purchase your 2018? If not, count yourself lucky that it took you 4 years to discover an incidence on shoddy workmanship.

Ha ha…I was thinking the exact same thing Titus.

Good job on tracing down your problem and fixing it. Don’t forget, duct tape is an upgrade to well…nothing.

You come to learn that each adventure with something broken is just a component that can be found and replaced.

I wondered how that system talks with the main control. Explains a lot. Glad you are back up and running, and kiddos to you for getting to the bottom of it.
