Air Conditioner Register Prototype

Since the stock registers from Airstream fall out and block air flow we came up with this 3D printed prototype. Light weight and max air flow. Snaps in place.
What do you think?

A worthwhile remedy. Of course if you want to embellish with a swivel base or adjustable vanes there might be a substantial airstreamer market. We are currently looking at alternatives used or suggested in these forums.

Looks like a great fix to a perpetual problem. And if they could rotate you might have created a business opportunity.

Good work!

Great idea. Would love a set especially if they rotated.

Looks to me like they can rotate inside the round hole in the ceiling.

Do they fit so tight that they will not rotate once they are snapped in?

Don't know yet, but not a lot. The idea is to be as light as possible and maximize airflow.

Don't know yet, but I think so.
I will pick up the prototypes today and see.
I'm thinking that you can just pop it in anyway you want.
Light, simple, cheap, max air flow.
Will not fall out and bash people on the head.

In my trailer once they are set I never touch them again.

Very timely! Just last week we purchased a couple of SOB vents to try and cobble a solution to the over-engineered louvers in our '17 AS. Got this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but ran across a Thetford that has no mounting screws. We willed the mounting holes on this one and painted it 'pewter' to approximate the color of the aluminum skin. Then it was mounted with a continuous strip of VHB tape. So far, so good--it rotates as well as closes but I think I'd like to try the mentioned Thetford. The continuous band of tape is due to it's 4.25" mounting diameter vs AS's 5" hole, thus, there's no leaks around the base.
BTW--mythbuster88's prototype is a beautiful piece of work. i'd be interested as well even if it doesn't rotate or close!
