Air Conditioner dripping on the floor.

Hi, my Air Conditioner has been dripping on my floor, off and on, for a few years. Was the rain too hard? Was the Air Conditioner drain clogged? Was the humidity too high? Was the roof seal leaking? I don't know!!!!!!! It was always just a little puddle that wouldn't and couldn't hurt anything. But it was annoying. Finally, digging into it, I found cracks in the plastic air conditioner drain. I removed the factory sealer, sanded the area where I could see cracks, and use a sand able, paintable, kitchen and bathroom caulking / sealer.

I had to go over this with my sealer a few times because before my water soluble / waterproof sealer could get a chance to dry, it would rain on it again. Also I found a hair line crack that was very hard to see. Finally when I got maybe two dry days, I finished with my sealer and set my furnace to 80 degrees for the day to hopefully get my fix done and over with.

After several days of rain, and no leaks detected, I put my air conditioner back together.

I repaired mine in the same spot over 5 years ago. I used JB Weld Water Weld. It's held up fine.

it's on my list for today. Funny thing is mine drips from that caulking only in the spring thaw and not when I have the airconditioner running. So I have let it go for a few years. Now annoyed so I will try to get it done.

Similar issue here. During rain we get a very slight drip coming out from the a/c filter and onto the floor. It’s such a small amount that half of a paper towel can clean it up, but annoying. I sealed all around the a/c unit on the roof but still got drips in the last rain storm. I figure I will have to try again sealing it up.

Finally got around to fixing mine. The factory caulking was applied over the end of the drain pan completely covering the end of the drain tube including the hose clamp. When I removed the caulking I discovered that the hose clamp had obviously gotten wet over the years and rusted out. When it did it expanded and caused the caulk to fail. New clamp and new caulking and all is well. I was amazed at how flexible the hose tube still was.
