AC units

Does anyone know if my 67 Sovereign originally had an installed rooftop AC system? currently has ugly window unit in front window and want to remove and put in rooftop unit. There is a "sky light window" where I thought the orig unit would have been.

If there is a covered 14 inch square hole in the middle of the roof, you had an AC at one time. Regardless, if you did not have one up there, the Airstream was prewired for one. A drain line will have to be considered....not a major deal but does require some work.

I am adding AC to my '67 Caravel. I asked Airstream where I could expect to find the factory pre-wire and received this:
I did not trust the diagram and thus removed several of the interior upper wall skins and found the factory wiring about 60" from the REAR main rib. Not from the front rib as shown in the above diagram. I even discovered the words "AC Nope" written with a red marker (presumably from the factory). The AC wiring has a generous pigtail. Here is where I am to date, no turning back now. I did not want to install the AC unit in the existing vent as it would hang past the roof curvature in the rear and look awful:
