AC unit for a 2002 Bambi

Had our unit go out and most replacement location say "hard to find parts and would be best just to replace with a new unit. Replacement cost range from $4000 to $2500. Would prefer a used unit at a lower price if anyone knows of one.

Who are you getting those prices from? $4000?!?

A 13.5k Dometic is about $1100, figure a 3-4 hour job if you pay a shop (prob less), you're in the $1500 range for a new unit. Fewer bells and whistles, even less.

I agree with Panam, the RV repair facilities are overloaded and prices are ridiculous. If you are not handy find a handy friend or handyperson, watch a few you tubes, it's not a complicated job. Hardest part is probably working on the roof but you can cover it first with those interlocking foam floor pads.
