During our last trip we were having issues with the air conditioner turning into a block of ice after running about 30 minutes. Hmmm.
First attempt: Shut the AC off and clean the compartment suction filters. Restart and 30 minutes later the same thing happens.
Second attempt:
1. Climb up on the roof and remove the AC cover.

2. Remove the Fan/Coil shroud insulation.

3. Remove the fan/coil plastic shroud. Now I am looking at the fan and AC coils.

On the opposite end of this are the heat pump coils.
I get my coil cleaner, water spray bottle, towels and clean all the coils (heat pump too). This had not been performed since my rig was purchased. During the cleaning I also note that there does not appear to be a freon leak and the compressor starts when the AC is started. About 2 hours later, everything is back together and the tools are put away. I'm feeling pretty good about where this is going.
Turn the AC back on and 35 minutes later I get the same block of ice. I am starting to doubt my mechanical abilities.

I take another picture and stare at it for a few minutes.... What is that thing hanging there by the coils?

Ahhh the thermistor sensor has fallen out of the coils. Why did I not just look up here first? FYI, the thermistor controls the compressor to prevent a block of ice from forming. I had forgotten K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid).
Just thought this might be helpful in case any of your were having the same issue.
