Yup, mine were tight as heck and I was sure I was going to break it trying to get it open. Fortunately a much more experienced AS person happen to drop by and he just reached up and was able to get it off. They pull down, no hooks or pins holding them in place. No hinges either. I was able to get a stiff nylon spatula in the middle and was able to pull it down. getting them back up was just as difficult. I am short so I got my little one-step step stool out and was able to push it back into place but you do need to line in up properly, then it just pops right in. I don't think you can break them, good luck.
