Question About Furnace in Safari 1978

Hi,
I met today a new member of my unit. Nice people.
They own a 1978 Safari 23' and they don't know how to run their furnace.
So I wanted to help them sure about I could do it. I thought that the difference between my Overlander 1975 and his wouldn't have been too big.
But I found a furnace without trap. Just a screwed panel...
So no way to find the light pilot nothing I am used to. And as we didn't have any screwdriver with us so I couldn't open that panel.
Do you have info about this furnace. how to run it, may be why there is no access trap to the light pilot.
thank you in advance I would like to help them.
And so far he doesn't have a manual, he doesn't have yet an internet acces so he can't be a member forum yet, but now he knows about it...

My 1979 Safari does not have a pilot, it lights by a signal from the thermostat on the rear wall.

When you turn the thermostat up the furnace fan should come on and the burner should ignite electronically. A commmon problem is fan but no heat and is caused by a sticky gas valve or a problem with the igniter circuit board.

ok, I thought it could be electronical, but it seems pretty old year for that technology.
Thank you very much.
I'll tell him. I'll see him next week at our first rally and we'll try to see if it works.
