A/C Leaking from drain in pan at outlet

Hello all,
Have been lurking for some time getting helpful info. Having MAJOR problem w/2000 34' with the 'original' type of drain pan under the AC.

Problem is that here in S (FL) very humid and after about 5min, starts to leak water from the filter area of the inside shroud. Wife is up in arms about carpet getting wet.

Took down shroud today to see if I could find source. Found problem, however, am trying to figure out how to fix WITHOUT taking AC off roof and replacing pan. It has fractured around the area that the drain outlet is in, the nut holding fitting in has come off, and it is VERY tight in the entire space.

Thinking about getting a piece of plastic, drilling hole that fitting would fit thru, and using a BUNCH of RTV to glue the plastic in-place. BTW, the fitting is METAL

I know that the BEST fix is to remove AC and replace entire pan, however, there is not an Airstream repair for 200 miles and getting in would take forever. I cannot get up on top w/ladder, unfortunately.

Thanks in advance to all,
Lawrence

I had a leak there in my AC. Camping World put in a new AC but could not get a new drain pan or the newer cups. So they used plummers putty. Which did not work at all. I went to Lowes and bought the smallest size each of several of the Flex Seal products. I used the tape followed with some type of sealer. It has worked perfectly for 2 more seasons now. You have to be very careful not to partially block the drain while sealing it. Hence the Flex tape first.

It is hard to imagine how much water comes out of this drain in humid weather.

You can probably get the drain cups now but you have to pull the AC from the top to install them. Or have a mobile RV service come do it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Discovered that whoever did last drain pan set it up of failure. Nut holding barbed fitting was steel. It had rusted so much came off of adapter. Going to try and fix what is in there. Have the old adapter out, drilled hole in piece of plastic, and going to use LOTS of Gorilla Clear Sealant (stuff like E6000). Going to clean outside of drain pan that I can get to using small wire brush and alcohol. Will let dry good before connecting flex tube to adapter.

Wish me luck!!
