A/C help

I have a Mach 8 13.5 BTU. Today every time I turn it on it pops the breaker. Any suggestions?

Pop the cover of the roof unit and make sure everything spins freely and is clean

It does. I just went up there and checked. The unit is only three years old. I guess do I take it to camping world and let them check it out?

No. Anywhere but CW.
It might be a good place to buy stuff, but they shall never approach my possessions bearing wrench nor screwdriver.

A/C help

Sounds like your start or run capacitor may have bit the dust. Hop up on the roof, remove the plastic AC shroud / cover and look for 2 small cylindrical devices with wires attached at one end. If one of them is bulging, split, burnt or exploded ... then you have found your problem. $10 part and DIY replacement.

Ok. I know the owner of the local RV repair place here in town. He said make sure all the motors move freely and so on. I did that. I noticed that the breaker requirements say 20 amp min and 30 amp max. I put a 30 amp in and when the compressor kicks on you can tell it's struggling. The fan slows down and it seems to cycle more often. I think the compressor is going bad. That being said. Do I stick with a Coleman Mach 8 or use a different brand?
