1964 Overlander A/C Compressor question

Another possibility might be the wall mounted air conditioner thermostat. Try setting it to the lowest possible temperature (if it is like my Overlander, it is the thermostat to the right of the furnace thermostat on the bedroom wall). Similar wall-mount thermostats are readily available at home centers if yours is questionable.
