04 ccd with no cm detector??

I find this surprising that my 04 22'ccd does not have a carbon monoxide detector in it? This thing has everything else and i thought, due to safety it would have a cm detector.
Was it an option? Is it an option?
Thanks.

My '05 22' CCD had it facing back on the curbside wheel well cover facing the desk. Not sure if that is your layout.

The dealership installed one prior to delivery when we purchased our 2004 28' CCD in February of 2009. They were not standard equipment in 2004.

They put ours on the curbside wall in the bedroom. We moved the smoke detector next to it ASAP. It was in the ceiling very close to the kitchen and would go off when I was cooking. It still did its job as it would still occasionally go off in its new location.

Our 2005 Westfalia has a CO detector. It was purchased new in 2007 and used by us in 2010 so, without checking the OM, I can't be sure it was original equipment in 2005.

Enjoy your 22' CCD. I have never been in one but they look like a great floor plan. Plus, I love the early CCD style.

shower cap

For those smoke detectors that go off whenever you cook... get a cheap shower cap like they give you in hotels. Put it over the detector just while you cook, then remove it.

Hi. Yes. We have one of those and that is not a CO detector, it is an LP detector . Different animal altogether.

Great suggestion.
I'll need to try that in the Westfalia. The SD is so close to the cook top that I can stand in one place and touch both at the same time. Things are tight in an 18.5' Sprinter!

You are right. Guess I was too quick. We do have a factory, I think Kidde CO mounted near the bed area. I've replaced both since.
