Ye ole Magic Chef grates/clips?
My first Post!....and I have researched/inquired past Forum threads/suppliers to no avail:
I'm in Orange Cty, CA. Just bought a 1970 Safari that's been vandalized...missing the Magic Chef grates & clips. I've searched, can't find a Magic Chef Model/#...so attaching a pic.
Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John

Did you lift up the top and look for a model number?
Our 66 Streamline has a 4 burner Magic Chef range but the top is different.

The grate clips are still available from Airstream. We bought a set at the factory store last year. They are not on the website, but I'm sure if you call they will sell you a set.

I remember seeing the clips at Jackson Center and being surprised at how much they sold for. But they aren't something you can find at Wal-Mart though, are they?
Perhaps it's a good time to consider getting a new unit. They are not silly pricey like a fridge or furnace, and would go a long way towards updating your galley.
Just a thought...

Just another thought, make sure it works before buying the grates. Check all burners and make sure the oven temperature control is operational and fairly accurate.

you can get the grates, and if it works, they're great ranges to cook on. Getting parts for the oven is a nightmare, the thermostat... I'm going through that now for our '64. That said, the vintage ones look great and are supposed to function a lot better than the new ones.

Did you ever find the clips ? The Magic Chef part number is 50-20.251-1. A no longer available item. i phoned Airstream last year and was told there was no stock. Easy to fabricate I guess but If there is a source that you found that would be helpful.

Or maybe something to post in the Airstream classified wanted section? Or, Craigslist or Ebay. I saw lots of parts when I was looking for the thermo for my Magic Chef.
