Ye 'ol magic chef

i have the old model 165 magic chef in my '66 caravel it's in great shape....well almost great shape. the burners all work fine but...you guessed it. the thermostat on the oven does not. everything i've come across on my own or on the forums here would suggest i just go buy another unit. my question is: does anyone know of another gas valve/ thermostat available that could be retro fitted to make this thing fully functional again? i plan on a gut job with this trailer in the near future so i want to see if i can make this thing work to determine whether or not to keep it. if there is no reasonable fix then it will go. if it goes, is there anyone out there who would like to do some trading for just a cook top? here are some pics of my stove.....pin-up girl magnets not included

Nice old stove.

The nice old stove in our '65 Caravel had the same problem.

I installed a new stove. Works well and is much easier to clean.

It apppears you have a Harper-Wyman thermostat, but there is no reason you couldn't use a Robertshaw or even a universal replacement thermostat.

If you're handy with tools.

Got Spare Stove Grates?

Sorry you're having problems with your stove. If you decide to trade up to a new one, I'd love to buy your grates. We're overhauling a '66 Caravel and somehow, our Magic Chef stove grates went missing.

For that matter: if ANYONE has spare grates from a model 165, I'd love to connect with you!

Please tell what you replaced the Magic Chef with. Our pilot light is broke and appliance repair man states they do not make parts for that anymore.
Would like to know a model and size to replace with.
