Trav'ler Oven issue

I'm having a unique problem with this vintage Trav'ler stove/oven that's in my 1963 Airstream trailer. Have looked at forum postings but don't seem to find this particular issue being discussed.
My oven heats very well and gets to over 500deg temps very quickly (as measured by separate thermometer). Pilot lights first time every time. I believe it is of sufficient flame to engage the burner each time.
My problem with this unit however is; after reaching desired temperature, say 350deg, and the main burner goes off, (which it should), what happens is that the pilot goes off as well. Somewhat frustrating, since I have to re-light the pilot again.
What are your suggestions for possible causes? Is it a bad thermocouple? How would that extinguish the pilot's flame though as it's not tied to the thermostat? Is it the air movement that blows it out when the burner shuts off?
Please help!
Thanks!
Michael
