Stove / Oven - Lippert or Furrion?

I'm thinking about replacing the stove / oven in our Flying Cloud. Anyone have recommendations? Lippert or Furrion? Or maybe some other brand? Dometic?

Dometic CU-434 is what I installed. Replaced the stock oven in my 2017 30’ serenity. Great unit and provides for more counter space.

Chose Furrion

Opted to use the furrion in my ‘69 Safari. Decision made because of the larger size. It is made in China vs Italy like dometic. My blue knob lights did not work when first installed. Loose wire connection from factory. Made cookies and they came out great. We think it looks great with the new countertop, sink, cutting board and faucet.

We purchased one of the Furrion ovens to install in our trailer, it's currently sitting in the closet waiting for everything else to be installed first.
we hope we made a good choice.

your install looks nice, we thought the Furrion just looked nicer for the price than the other options.
How do you like the burner controls i'm hoping they are smoother than our old magic chef was?

I'm following this thread closely as I really want to replace the stovetop/microwave/convection oven "upgrade" in our '06 25 Safari and install a well designed and reliable gas range. I love to cook and we love to boondock.

One of my pet peeves with our current stovetop is that the grate system isn't aligned with the burners and my pots and pans get tippy if they're not perfectly positioned. Anyone else have that issue? If not, what stovetop do you have that works well?Click image for larger version

I replaced mine with a Force 10 Euro Standard marine stove. All stainless, extremely well made, has quiet electric ignition (no loud clacking piezo ignition) on all burners including oven and separate broiler, has flame sensors on all burners (no turning on the gas by accidentally leaning in a knob), has "disappearing" door that retracts under the oven instead of hanging open in your living space, comes with rails and pot clamps so you can leave pots in place while underway. Not cheap, but worth it to me. Required minor trimming of counter to install--a drawback.

Stove/oven

I removed my cooktop and oven to replace with a TruInduction duel fuel 2 burner one of each and a Breville Smart Oven Air. Full time in rig for 18 months. Happy with both.

Lippert (a/k/a LCI) does not have a good reputation. I notice no one who has already posted recommended them either.

Looks awesome.

Did you have to cut or trim anything to get this new, much nicer, stove into your Airstream? I'm assuming you had the standard Atwood stove before that. Correct? Also, how did you get 12VDC to the stove for the igniters?

Thanks!

Stove / Oven - Lippert or Furrion?

Had it professionally installed at timeless travel trailers in Denver.

They had to cut the countertop as the CU-434 is deeper but narrower than the Atwood. They added some trim to fill the gap on the top sides and then fabricated some custom stainless steel caps were made to cap off the countertop edge - which has a funky cutout for the Atwood.

They also had to fabricate custom laminate filler pieces to trim out the front and make it look factory. Nothing was square! Haha...

I was close to simply installing new custom Corian countertop like my last trailer but we like the factory Corian so we worked around it.

OK, but has anyone seen a nice cooktop to replace the stock, for those of us who have the convection oven?

Thank you wulfraat. Does the countertop require much modification to accommodate the CU-434?

Furionnis great. Cast iron grates are much more substantial than the dometic smev. They also offer a 2 and 3 burner stove top for those with a convection oven

Both are excellent values for the $$

As advised today by the “local Airstream Dealer/Service”, the Dometic CU-434 is now discontinued by Dometic. It is however still available to Airstream (as they are continuing to install it in the high end models). As such, consumers can still purchase it from any Airstream Dealer/Service.

But .... guess how much consumers get the pleasure of purchasing the Dometic CU-434 from an Airstream Dealer/Servicer? $1,277 + shipping. I asked the local Airstream Dealer/Servicer “what is that price?” He replied “retail price.”

So ... I guess I’m now hijacking my own thread as I’m transitioning into a completely different subject ... what is “reasonable” pricing? After a quoted price of $1,277, I decided to check the internet and see what came up. I’m compelled to comment:

A. $1,277 is 10% above what another company advertises the Retail Price (attached). Click image for larger version

ID:	343236. So who is telling the truth about what Retail Price is?

B. $1,277 is 68% above the lowest advertised price I found (attached).Click image for larger version

ID:	343237 It implies Airstream sticks it to the Airstream consumers with its “Retail Price.”

I honestly try to support Airstream and its Dealer/Servicer channel partners. But if the Airstream - Dealer channel partner program reflects that kind of markup, it honestly influences me to not be such a “faithful” Airstream service and parts customer. It makes me now question what kind of inflated markup do we, as Airstream customers, swallow on the parts we’re held “hostage” to purchase only through a single source, Airstream Dealers/Servicers.

Ok I got my rant out of the way. It appears I’ll be purchasing a Furrion stove and will in the future purchase anything that I possibly can from a source other than Airstream and its channel partners (the Airstream Dealers/Servicers).

Ok, now that your rant is over with, will you buy it from the cheapest supplier? Inquiring minds want to know whether that works out well for you.

Also, I'm darn disappointed that I won't be able to get one of these, as I won't be doing a rip/replace on the old horrible Dometic oven until the DW finally says, "Git 'er done!"

How much install customization/trimming was needed with the Force 10 oven?

Furrion stove in 2020 models

My wife saw this and said - holy moly - that's dangerous. It looks like anyone could easily make a mistake and knock a pot of boiling water or sauce off of those burners. Anyone else coming to this conclusion? Why did AS move to this model? Anyone have experience with this model and do you find it is safe to use?
