Stove not lighting
So when we turn on the burner and hit the electrical switch it doesn't light. I can hear it firing but it doesn't light the burner.
Is there something that needs to be cleaned?

Stove not lighting
Do you hear gas? And are you pushing in on the knob to bypass thermocouple? Have you checked to make sure tank is open and/or has propane. Stoves are pretty simple. Also have you tried switching tanks?

I always have to use a lighter stick. The ones on the stove just don't do the job.

If you do this and don’t see the flame flickering when you hold near the burner, no gas is flowing. Odds are either out of gas or bad regulator
If the flame flickers but doesn’t light it’s air in the system just wait till it lights.

Mine lights just fine. Just won't start with the stove igniters.

Hi Pat,
Have you tried wiping the igniter with paper towel? This helped me.
You should see the igniter spark when you press the button. You might have to press it repeatedly and quickly to get the gas to burn.

Have you confirmed that you have gas to the burner? Try lighting the burner with a match. If you have no gas to the burner, you could have several problems. 1. Tanks not turned on. 2. Empty tank. 3. Faulty regulator. 4. Valve below stove on the underside of the trailer turned off. 5. Faulty stovetop valve. Could be any one of the above, or a combination. Can you smell gas? If all else fails take to a RV dealer, or propane service centre, for diagnosis.

Did you ever get your stove to light with the igniter? I’m out on a trip and mine just stopped lighting. It worked on Sunday before we left but now won’t light. Just curious what you might have done to fix your problem (if anything). Thanks.

I always found the igniter switch is randomly reliable. It works today and not tomorrow. Just use the long lighters found everywhere, and these always work if you got propane gas. Of course, if you have no gas flowing to your cooktop, time for refills.
