Range & Fridge Vents

Hi AS pals,
I need to replace my exterior range and fridge vent covers for 1966 17' Caravel. I can't find the replacements anywhere.

Suggestions?
Thanks
Karen

Call Andy at www.inlandrv.com - we live just outside of Vancouver in BC and our order came in about 5 days (UPS). I just received my range hood and fridge vent yesterday. Your delivery would be quicker without the dreaded border. Don't forget the rivets and vulkem sealer...

http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/ is another great site but for us the delivery is very slow - 14 days on and still no parts! I think this is par for the course with USPS and borders...

Note that the fridge vent cover is aluminum (not plastic as my original was) and longer than the original. If you suffer from the same issue check out this site for a tutorial on how to make it work: http://www.vintageairstream.com/rr_t...refervent.html

Good luck!

Reviving an old thread - to help myself!

1994 30' classic

I am about to replace the range exhaust vent cover (mine is cracked and doesn't look to be sealed well). Any tips on completing this task?

My current plan is to unscrew cover and pry it off.

Then use lacquer thinner and a plastic scraper to prep surface.

apply sika-flex to border of new cover stick it on and screw it in.

wipe off excess sika flex.

Any tips, corrections are appreciated.

thanks!
